“You can’t polish a turd” - someone from long ago

IMPORTANT NOTE FOR MASTERING CLIENTS: Even the best mastering engineer cannot fix a poor mix. The mastering stage is intended to bring a good mix to life but it can’t however, fix fundamental errors in the mix. If you’re struggling with your mix consider opting for a either a stem master or mix and master for optimal results.

Tonal Correction and Dynamic control

  • I use various meters to analyze the tonal spectrum of your song and identify any large resonances or dead zones that need addressing.

  • Through Eq and compression (analog modelled or true digital), I gently correct the tonal balance, control dynamics and breathe air into the mix.

  • Imaging and tape saturation help brighten the mix but ensure that it remains centered and in phase.

  • Loud, punchy, dynamic, a mix of them all. You choose.

  • Analog modelled compression and limiting add warmth, weight and cohesiveness to your track while keeping it as dynamic as possible.

  • I am well aware of the loudness war and can make you king of the castle if you want to be a part of it, but… if you’re only looking for competitive volume and a dynamic mix, I can do that too.
